About

Michaela Wolfe

Hi! My name is Michaela Wolfe.

I am originally from North Carolina. After the loss of my mother, my brother and I were raised by my father, whose steady presence taught me resilience, empathy, and gratitude for each day we are given. During this time, I found solace in reading and artistic creation, spaces where I could navigate complex emotions and begin to understand who I wanted to become.

I am currently a junior at Vanderbilt University, where I study Neuroscience and Medicine, Health, and Society. I serve as a research assistant in the Reactivity and Regulation Lab, examining the relationship between early life adversity and psychopathology. My academic work is guided by a sustained interest in how lived experiences shape the brain, behavior, and emotional development. I am particularly drawn to medicine and mental health as fields that demand both scientific rigor and deep human understanding.

At my core, I believe that creation is one of the most genuine ways of being human. Whether through writing, art, research, or code, the act of making allows us to process experience and give shape to what we carry. I hope that readers of my work feel encouraged to create in their own ways, and to see creation not as performance, but as a meaningful form of understanding, connection, and care.
